The cottage we stayed in was well-equipped and had everything we needed. The hosts were friendly and provided great recommendations for local attractions. The location was perfect for exploring the beautiful surroundings and enjoying peaceful walks.
The cottage we stayed in did not have a great view. the location was quite remote, so having a car was necessary for exploring further.

A perfect active retreat for outdoor enthusiasts. I loved the quick and easy access to rock climbing, surfing, and running along the coast path. It was wonderful to know that after a day of adventure, I could come back to a warm and comfortable cottage. Looking forward to returning!

The cottages were well-appointed and kept in immaculate condition. The owners were warm and welcoming, providing plenty of advice about the locality. The view from the gardens of the sunset over the ocean was simply magical.
The sofa and chairs were a bit low down and could use some replacement. The mattresses were not very comfortable and could be improved.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at a lovely farmhouse in Cornwall. The Old Farmhouse at Downe Cottages provided us with a comfortable and cozy retreat. The farmhouse was tastefully decorated and well equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. It was the perfect size to accommodate our large family of six. The location was ideal, allowing us to easily explore the stunning north Devon coast with its beautiful coastal walks and quiet beaches. We were also impressed by the accurate directions provided by the owners and the covered parking in a huge barn. The warm and hospitable welcome we received made us feel right at home. our experience at Downe Cottages was thoroughly enjoyable.

I recently stayed at Downe Cottages for a week-long holiday with my family. The spacious house provided ample room for everyone, and the gardens were incredibly beautiful, with hardy plants that thrived in the stunning location. The views were absolutely outstanding, with picturesque walking trails and breathtaking beaches nearby. The well-equipped kitchen was perfect for preparing meals, and the clean bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and stylish. The addition of two lounges allowed for family activities and relaxation. The hosts, Jeremy and Lynda, were friendly and provided a detailed handbook with plenty of recommendations for dining and activities.

Stayed at Downe Cottages for 9 days and it was one of the best stays we've had in the UK. The spacious 300-year-old cottage had everything we needed, and the property was spotless. The peaceful location offered stunning seaviews and evening sunsets. The hosts, Jeremy and Lynda, were incredibly friendly and helpful. The area had plenty of choice for walks, and Hartland was a short 30-minute walk away with nice pubs and shops. The detailed handbook provided lots of recommendations for things to do and places to eat. Can't wait to return!
Would be happy to recommend this hotel.

The location of the cottages is simply breathtaking, with outstanding views of the surrounding area. the rooms were clean and well-organized, providing a comfortable and spacious stay for our group. the hosts were welcoming and helpful, ensuring that our needs were met throughout our visit.
It would have been more convenient if there were grocery stores closer to the cottages, as the nearest supermarket was quite a distance away.

I had such a wonderful time at Downe Cottages. The cottage I stayed in was Honeysuckle and it was absolutely perfect. It was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed for my 8-night stay. The owners, Jeremy and Lynda, were incredibly helpful and friendly, providing me with useful information about the area. The location was peaceful and allowed for some amazing walks nearby. The nearby restaurant recommendations, like Pattards Kitchen, were spot on and the food was delicious. The views of the sunset at Hartland Quay were simply breathtaking. I had a fantastic stay and will definitely be returning.
Although the courtyard for the old farmhouse lacked views, sitting on blankets on the main lawn made up for it. It would have been nice to have some chairs and a table there as well.
